Krystin Laferriere Grassroots Realtor selling the peace

Hey, I’m Krystin Laferriere and I am part of Selling the Peace Grande Prairie. I was born in North Vancouver and moved to Grande Prairie when I was 12 years old. I never knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life so I have worn many hats. I attended school for Hair design in Calgary when I was 20 and moved back to GP for my apprenticeship. I have always been a very creative person and so naturally, starting my own business was the path I would take. When I was 23 I started Chickletz Jr Salon and Spa, it was a hit. We had so much fun running this business but ultimately staffing was difficult. 4 years in, we made the choice to change things around and make it into a regular salon and then sell it. I had met my now husband and we were starting our family so it made the most sense for me.

Fast forward another year or so and 2 daughters later, I found myself thinking about business again. I decided to start B*Dazzled Spa. Its a Spa catering to kids and their parents as a fun experience, and birthday parties. Who wouldn’t want a spa party! Right before the doors opened, I found out I was expecting our 3rd baby. A little boy. I started on the search for a buyer knowing I wouldn’t be able to give the energy the spa needed while I was at home with 3 young kids. I was lucky and found the best person for the job and B*Dazzled is still running today.

During Covid, myself and my husband sat down and really brainstormed what the next part of life would look like for us. For me, I knew I was done doing the salon thing and really wanted to find my passion again.

In comes Real Estate!!! I have always loved houses and people so why not combine them. This couldn’t have worked out better for me as a career choice. My heart has been ignited; nothing makes me happier than helping families find a home.

Working alongside the mentors at Grassroots Realty Group, and starting our team Selling the Peace, I don’t think I was meant to end up anywhere else., This industry is a constant learning curve as I navigate this amazing venture and I am so grateful to have my amazing clients along for the ride.
